- In the sermon we looked at a few of the ideas people today have about who Jesus is. Discuss some of these as a group. What difference does our idea of who Jesus is make to our lives today?
- The second half of verse 14 says "And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son". What is god's glory? Can we see it today?
- Verses 14 and 16: What is:
- grace;
- truth.
- Verse 17, how does the law fit with grace and truth? And what difference does knowing that make to you?
- Verse 18 says, (in the New Living Translation) "No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us." First talk through what God's 'father's heart' means, and then use this as a theme to lead you into a time of prayer.
